The enthusiastic participation of Macarthur Anglican School and St Paul’s School from Australia made English Camp 2010 a great success. This annual event for children aged 6-12 ran from the 16th -23rd of March at Varee Chiangmai School and featured a circus theme. Students were put into teams of Lion Tamers, Jugglers, Ringmasters, Acrobats, and Clowns for friendly competitions which gave plenty of opportunities to speak English in real situations and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere outside the classroom.
Integrated learning and creative activities were organised by our skilled and qualified team leaders. The days were filled with engaging activities in lots of subjects including Science, English and Maths and, in line with the circus theme, they went on an excursion to Chiang Mai Zoo to learn more about the animals.
The end of the week was marked with a ceremony where the Thai students gave the outreach team from Australia a handmade umbrella from Borsang, beautifully painted and decorated with their names as a souvenir of the event at VCS.
