Teachers Connect 2009 is over!!!

Teachers Connect 2009; our teaching workshop by experienced teachers from the has just been successfully completed with the excellent cooperation of both Thai and foreign teachers. began on Friday afternoon ( the 19th June  2009) . Primary and kindergarten foreign teachers attended the workshop entitled "EDI and TAPPLE", lectured by Mrs. Judies Szpor. At 6.30 pm., the workshop was formally opened by A. Varee addressing the Teachers connect team and Thai teachers. After the opening speech, Mrs. Judies gave a lecture on "Effective Teaching Strategies". Then, the teachers were put into groups, they brainstormed and presented individually before Mrs. Judies wrapped up the ideas.
On Saturday morning ( the 20th June  2009), we began with the morning assembly at 8.30. Mrs.Judies introduced her team and talked about what would be in the workshop. After that, everyone separated into groups and attended the workshop according to their fields until 4.00 pm. There were 4 stations as follows:

Station 1
             Kindergarten and Primary teachers joined the "Science Teaching Techniques
            and Science Vocabularies" group lectured by Mrs. Judies.
Station 2
           Mattayom teachers joined the Science and Mathematics teaching techniques
           group lectured by Mrs. Carmella.
Station 3 
           Primary and Mattayom teachers joined the "Effective Instruction" group lectured
           by Stan Hubert.
Station 4 
          Mattayom teachers joined the "CAP STONE College Bound Research" group lectured
          by Fred Peters.
Station 5 
          All the teachers joined the "EDI (Explicit Direct Instruction) and TAPPLE (Teach first,
          Ask a question, Pause, Pick a non-volunteer, Listen to students, Effective feedback:
          echo, elaborate, explain) Teaching Techniques" group lectured by Mrs. Judies.

In the evening, there was a party called "Fiesta Night". It was a little different from the party several years ago. This year, teachers had their supper at 5.00 pm. before attending the party in the hall. There was also a Thai band that performed songs throughout the party. After the opening speech given by A. Varee, there was a Spanish dance, Thai dessert break, soft drinks, certificates granting, songs and obviously the thank you speech to the team before everyone was dismissed.  See you again on the Teachers Connect, 2010 !!!.
