On Friday 3rd February 2012, Varee Chiangmai School together with The Japanese School, Singapore has arranged “Thai and Japanese Students Cultural Exchange Activities” which has the aim to create good friendship and to exchange culture and traditions between students from Varee Chiangmai School and The Japanese School, Singapore. It is the honour to have also welcomed Chiang Mai Governor ML Panadda Diskul and Mr. Kazuo Shibata, Consulate-General of Japan in Chiang Mai, to officially mark the opening as well as given a valuable speech for all students for seeing the significance of knowing the values of our own culture and traditions. Professor Thawatchai Chaikan, Director of Office of the Private Education Commission, and Professor Sermsit Pimpundee, Deputy Director of Chiang Mai Primary Education Service Area 1, have given us the honour of joining an opening ceremony to mark the opening. From the activities that were enjoyed by the students from The Japanese School, Singapore and Varee Chiangmai School has brought smiles to everyone as they have fulfilled the objective for building friendship from their teamwork and as well as sharing cultures to each other as a valuable gift of memories for them to bring home. For the closing ceremony, students from both schools enjoyed themselves in Thai Traditional Dance which Thai students have taught the Japanese students for Thai “Rum-Wong”. Thai & Japanese Students Cultural Exchange Activities 2012 has been successful with all the excitement and the hard-work from both teachers and students to give the importance to cultural exchange and the chance to learn cultural differences and experience with others.
